from Take Notice EP by Jack Flash

about

'After Fort Sumner' was one of the first Jack Flash songs ever written.
The song is Jack Flash's adaptation of what might of happened after the killing of Billy The Kid by Pat Garrett.

lyrics

Verse:
See those horses riding
With those outlaws on their backs
One name on their mind is Pat Garrett
He killed Billy in the dark he was just a kid
These outlaws will get revenge for what he did

Chorus:
Loaded with their thunder
Riding through the night
Billy in his spirit
These kids were out all night

Verse:
When the news had traveled Pat hadn't stuck around
Off to the Ranch he went with Adamson by his side
He thought he was safe that nothing could go wrong
Little did he know this stop wouldn't go on

Chorus:
Loaded with their thunder
Riding through the night
Billy in his spirit
These kids were out all night

Verse:
He lifted the gun right up to his head
Gives him one last prayer
And says this will be the end
Wayne Brazel beat those outlaws to their own game
This is what they wanted their smiles will be the same

Chorus:
Loaded with their thunder
Riding through the night
Billy in his spirit
These kids were out all night
